About Me
Janelle was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania. Her first acting and singing performance was as an angel in a church Christmas play at just five years old. From that time on she knew performing was what she wanted to do with her life. Growing up Janelle took classes in ballet, ice skating, and gymnastics. However, acting became her major goal.
Upon entering the seventh grade Janelle took time off from dancing to pursue heavy involvement in school and volunteer activities. She was involved in the Drama Club, County Choir, District Choir, Concert Choir, Concert Band, and in the National Honor Society. She was also a Student Rotarian, Newspaper Editor, Yearbook Editor, and a volunteer with the Benscreek Lutheran Church youth group. Janelle was also given the honor of singing the National Anthem at the 2007 state basketball game in Hershey, PA.
Janelle's favorite role in high school was as a soloist in Les Miserable. A part from high school productions she has had various public performances in local churches and retirement homes in Johnstown, PA.
After graduating high school, Janelle attended Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland. She has been in various main and second stage productions. She also gained valuable experience in costume construction and was the Costume Supervisor for a production of Almost Maine. She has her bachelors degree Theatre in acting for Theatre and a history minor. She is a trained actress and singer. She is also trained in British, Cockney, and Irish dialects.
Janelle has also had experience in working for film. She was cast as a passenger in the short film "Waiting for a Train" directed by David Joyce and got a role as a sports fan this past summer in The Dark Knight Rises directed by Christopher Nolan. She has also had modeling experience by getting the opportunity to be a hair model for the well known hair photographer Thomas Carson.
This past fall she also got the role of Samantha Craig in FSU's theatrical production of Our Town. Since graduating from Frostburg State University she now plans to pursue her career in acting for Film, Television, Theatre, Commercial, and Modeling. Currently, Janelle can be found in this years national Hairstyle 2012 magazine as a featured hair model and was also chosen for Dove's Living Beauty Ad Campaign streaming in Times Square. This past summer Janelle portrayed the role of Portia in Band of Brothers Shakespeare Company's production of Julius Caesar. Most recently, Janelle acted in another Band of Brother's Production in their comedic version of Hamlet as Ophelia.
Currently, Janelle lives near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
